Sybase performance management
How it`s work? At first we need a driver. This connector requires a driver to communicate with the database. It is possible that the required driver is already installed on your computer. If the driver is not installed on your computer, Tableau displays a message in the connection dialog box with a link to the driver download page where you can find driver links and installation instructions.
Make the connection and set the data source
Start Tableau and, under Connect, select SAP Sybase ASE. For a complete list of data connections, select More under A a server. Then proceed as follows:
Enter https://www.enteros.com/products/ the name of the server you want to connect to and specify which port to use. Enter the name of the service (optional). If you use Single Sign-On access, you must enter the name of the service.
Select the Authentication method:
Built-in Authentication: Select this option if your environment is configured for Single Sign-On (SSO) access.
User name and password: Enter the user name and password to access the server.
(Optional) Select Initial SQL to specify an SQL command to execute at the beginning of each connection, for example when opening the workbook, updating an extraction, logging in, or publishing to Tableau Server. For more information, see Run Initial SQL Instructions.
Select Sign in.
If Tableau fails to connect, verify that your credentials are correct. If you still can't connect, your computer is having trouble locating the server. Contact your network administrator or database administrator.
On the data source page, perform the following steps:
(Optional) Select the default data source name at the top of the page, then enter a unique name for the data source to use in Tableau. For example, use a conventional data source name to help other users understand which data source to connect to.
In the Database drop-down list, select a database or use the text box to search for a database by name.
In the Pattern drop-down list, select a pattern or use the text box to search for a pattern by name.
In Table, select a table or use the text box to search for a table by name.
You can also specify a procedure stored in the database. To access archived procedures, the database must be properly configured with a connected server, which could be a remote server or a pointer to the database itself (called loopback). For more information, see Using an archived procedure.
Drag an archived table or procedure onto the drawing area, then select the sheet tab to start the analysis.
Use a custom SQL query to connect to a specific query rather than the entire data source. For more information, see Connecting to a Custom SQL Query.
*Note: Kerberos authentication for SAP Sybase performance management ASE does not support delegation. This means that if you selected Built-in Authentication, you cannot use Viewer Credentials as an authentication method when publishing a workbook or data source to Tableau Server, but only an Execute as Server account. In addition, the Run as user account must have an account in the SAP Sybase ASE database.
